Pitcher Johan Santana brought his brother to the 2005 All-Star Game. This year he brought his mentor, his father, Jesus, who last week called Santana after a rough start in Kansas City to motivate him.

"This is so great, to have my father here with me," Santana said. "This is a very special day."

Sojourn in God's Country

Just got back from here, and it's a minor miracle that I decided to come back to Minny at all. Soon the sweet, languorous summer pixie dust should wear off, and I'll regain my blogging mojo. Until then, I hope all you kiddies out there are enjoying yourselves, too.
